An event titled “Independence Spirit in Little Hearts” was organized at MAKÜ Kindergarten by the MAKÜ Science Communication Coordination on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the acceptance of the National Anthem on March 12.
In the program conducted with 3-5 age group students under the guidance of Dr. Lecturer Abdullah TANTA; love for the homeland and the flag was explained to the children through stories and visuals, and Atatürk and Mehmet Akif Ersoy were introduced. The event, which was enlivened by a student reciting the National Anthem from memory, concluded with the little ones chatting with the Mehmet Akif Ersoy artificial intelligence application at the Rectorate and learning our national values through an innovative experience.
An event titled “Minik Yüreklerde İstiklal Ruhu” was held on 12.03.2026 as part of the Science Café meetings organized by the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Science Communication Coordination. The event, conducted with the participation of Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Abdullah TANTA from the Faculty of Education, aimed to raise awareness among preschool children about the flag, homeland, and national values on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the acceptance of the İstiklal Marşı and to introduce the meaning of the İstiklal Marşı in a way appropriate to their age levels. During the event held at MAKÜ Kindergarten, a conversation was held with students aged 3-5. During the conversation, love for the homeland was explained to the students through visuals of the map of Turkey and a heart, and brief information about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the author of the İstiklal Marşı, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, was shared. To increase the children's interest, a story about love for the flag and homeland was told, and students' questions were addressed. As part of the program, a student who knew all the stanzas of the İstiklal Marşı by heart recited the anthem, contributing to the event. At the end of the event, the Mehmet Akif Ersoy area located in the MAKÜ Rectorate was visited with the students. During the visit, the children experienced gaining awareness and consciousness about national values by asking questions to Mehmet Akif Ersoy's artificial intelligence application.
