The meeting, which started with the opening speech of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, discussed the strategic goals of the coordination and the vision of social contribution.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Gürsoy emphasized the main purpose of informing the public correctly on scientific issues by explaining the reasons for the establishment of the coordination and similar practices around the world initiated within the framework of YÖK. He underlined that the events should not remain within the boundaries of the faculty but should be organized in a flexible manner, open to the public, without location and calendar restrictions. In the meeting, it was stated that practical topics such as April 23 celebrations, earthquake awareness, electric vehicles, and posture in health could be among the event themes; while cooperation, teamwork, and the principles of volunteering were particularly emphasized in the studies.
In the continuation of the meeting, Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Hakan Ulutaş introduced the coordination team and provided information about the office's areas of responsibility and the critical roles of academic unit representatives in this process. In the presentation where the content evaluations of the eight events organized so far were shared, the importance of spreading the events not only limited to the central district but also to surrounding districts was emphasized. It was once again reminded that the principle of volunteering is the fundamental working principle of the coordination.
