In the "Science Cafe" event organized by the Burdur MAKÜ Science Communication Coordination, preschool students in the 5-year age group met science and nature at BilTekMer. During the event, Dr. Faculty Member Elif Süreyya Kanyılmaz explained the "Forest School Approach" to the children, while BilTekMer Director Prof. Dr. Hale Seçilmiş introduced the little ones to the laboratory environment. Accompanied by experts at the center, the future researchers, who examined light and electron microscopes for the first time in their lives, experienced moments of discovery in this special program that blends nature and technology.
The “Science Cafe” events organized by the Burdur MAKÜ Science Communication Coordination opened its doors this week to the researchers of the future. In the event held at Burdur MAKÜ BilTekMer, kindergarten students in the 5-year age group explored both the workings of nature and the mysterious world of science.
As part of the event, Dr. Faculty Member Elif Süreyya KANYILMAZ CANLI met with the children with her presentation titled "Forest School Approach." This approach aims to help children connect with nature, develop their self-confidence, and learn by doing and experiencing. Dr. KANYILMAZ CANLI explained to the little ones that nature is not just a playground but also a vast school.
Prof. Dr. Hale SEÇİLMİŞ, the Director of Burdur MAKÜ BilTekMer, introduced the little guests to the laboratory environment. She provided information about the analyses and scientific studies conducted at the center in a language that children could understand.
The most exciting moments of the event were the microscope examinations conducted with the experts from Burdur MAKÜ BilTekMer. The 5-year age group students, who observed in a laboratory environment for the first time in their lives:
* Examined small structures that cannot be seen with the naked eye using a Light Microscope.
* Witnessed the technological power of science by delving into the deepest details of substances with an Electron Microscope.
The event aimed to provide children with a holistic perspective by blending nature with laboratory visits through the Forest School Approach, and it concluded with the curious gazes of the little students and the captured memory photos.
