As the Science Communication Coordination of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, we organized the "Science Cafe" talks, and this week, the event titled "Soilless Agriculture Workshop: Blueberry Harvest" was held in a nature-integrated environment with Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine AKMAN.
In her informative and enjoyable presentation on soilless agriculture technologies and blueberry production, Dr. AKMAN addressed the effects of global climate change on agricultural production and shared sustainable and effective solutions offered by soilless agriculture systems due to the special cultivation requirements of blueberries with the participants.
Explaining why blueberries were chosen as a strategic product due to their high economic value and rich antioxidant benefits for health, Dr. AKMAN also answered the questions that participants were curious about.
Participants experienced and enjoyed the joy of harvesting blueberries grown in soilless agriculture with their own hands directly from the branches.
The workshop was not limited to blueberries. Participants also visited the cherry trees in the same garden, enjoying delightful moments in nature by picking and eating fresh cherries directly from the branches.
This week's Science Cafe event, where the future agricultural technologies were examined on-site and the joy of meeting nature was savored, concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and a cheerful group photo with all participants.
